I genuinely tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. As someone with experience in property management, I know how hard this job can be, and I really tried to be understanding. But after living here, I feel a responsibility to help future residents go in with eyes wide open.
There were issues from the start. My move-in date was delayed multiple times without notice, and no one reached out, I had to follow up each time. When I finally got the keys, there was no welcome or explanation,... and my apartment had clearly not been cleaned or properly prepared. There was debris on the floor (including toenail clippings), poorly patched walls, and just an overall sense that no one checked the unit before I moved in.
From there, it was a constant stream of problems. The elevators regularly broke down. One weekend, someone vomited in the only working elevator, and it wasn’t cleaned for days because the office said cleaning didn’t happen on weekends. I had to take the stairs 26 flights just to leave.
The laundry room was consistently dirty, many machines didn’t work, and mold was present. It was the only one in the entire building. On top of that, the building had no ventilation (the windows don’t open), the AC barely worked, and by summer, my apartment became dangerously hot. When the AC fully stopped working, it took weeks to replace right in the middle of a heatwave. I know I wasn’t the only one affected, and I’m genuinely sorry for anyone else who had to go through that.
Communication with management was difficult. Residents were often left without updates or meaningful responses. Meanwhile, rent increases felt unfair. I was quoted much more than new residents for the same exact space. That’s not how retention should work.
There were nice gestures like pizza parties and lobby donuts, but it was frustrating to see money spent on perks instead of addressing serious livability issues. It felt like appearances were being prioritized over actual resident care.
It’s disappointing to leave this review, especially since I went in hopeful and patient. But the reality of living here was stressful, uncomfortable, and often unsafe. If you’re considering this property, please take all reviews seriously. I wish I had.

Auraria Lofts deleted all their old reviews because their ashamed of the fact they never improved to be better. There's a mountain of problems with this "apartment," from no hot water for two months in the winter, no elevators working, and roommates being moved into your unit with less than 24 hours notice. Management is so awful at their job, they didn't know a roommate they were moving into our unit had a dog, which is a problem because my other roommate is allergic. But the most recent... incident is when someone broke into our unit in the middle of the night and stole over $1000 worth of things. The only response we got back from th building was the cameras don't work, oh well. They did not care at all that someone broke in, which makes us suspicious that it could be someone who works here...
It is not safe to life here. Management will also give tours of your unit without giving you any notice whatsoever. There is no privacy here, and you can bet on living through constant stress and anxiety for your time here.

The building management has changed so many times yet nothing has changed. For almost an entire semester there was no hot water, and this was during the fall/winter. 1 of the 3 elevators broke in December and hasn't been fixed, and the 2 remaining elevators are inconsistent and often out of order. The floors are almost always dirty with some floors smelling of roten eggs and urine. No matter how much we complain about these issues they don't go away. I'm glad that my lease has finally ended and... I can escape from the h*ll hole that is Auraria Student Lofts

I moved here in August of 2023. I beg of you, DO NOT move here if you value your safety, peace of mind, or working apartment/building.
For almost 24 hours yesterday, 0 out of the 3 elevators on property were working. ASL is not motivated to fix the other two elevators. One of which hasn't been working since December, and the other hasn't been working for several months. People have gotten stuck in these elevators so often that I'm genuinely afraid to use them, but I live on a high floor and... can't access my door by using the stairs, so they leave me no other choice.
Additionally, from roughly August through December of 2023 (yep, three months) there was no hot water in the whole building. The delayed ASL solution to this was to give us limited access to two rooms in the Curtis Hotel to shower. These rooms were not cleaned between users, and were used to accommodate 150+ residents. There were 30 minute time increments, and not offered at times I could reasonably shower before I had to go to work. They did not compensate us for the time our unit was legally uninhabitable.
Maintenance work is often marked complete in the tenant portal without a technician addressing the issue, or it will be completed in an incorrect way. My faucet has been leaking since I moved in. I sent in four maintenance requests, and several of them were marked complete without even touching the faucet. As another example, the handle on my shower is installed backwards, and the dishwasher makes a "crack" noise every time you try to close it.
Fire safety is an issue. The staff do not know how the fire alarms work, even asking me if I knew how to turn them off when they accidentally triggered them during a routine inspection. Once, when my roommate triggered the alarm, it took four hours and five phone calls from us before they were turned off. No staff even knew the alarms were triggered before we called the emergency line.
To conclude, this unit is simply not worth the money, the hassle, or the safety issues. You can find places for less money and fewer roommates that won't risk your safety or your sanity. I can't wait to get out of here this month, and I encourage you to not get stuck living here either.

Just moved here and I go to school near. The manager here, Mark is great. He was able have my lock on my apartment door fixed fast and answers all of my email questions in a timely manner. So happy that management was able to get the pool cleaned and the gym equipment fixed.

I'm really sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our property. We strive to provide a comfortable and hassle-free living experience for all our residents, so it's deeply concerning to hear that we fell short of this in your case. We... will definitely take your feedback on board regarding communication, cleanliness, and maintenance in the building and we'll work hard to improve these areas. I assure you it isn't typical of the level of service we aim to provide - nevertheless, we are grateful for your honest review as it helps us learn and grow.
